FUE Hair Transplant

Ultra Fine FUE for Hair Transplant

The strip method is relatively fast and is the most commonly practiced transplantation technique in use today. However, with emerging technology and technique, Follicular Unit Extraction is become more common. You may have heard of this method under some of the older names, including the Woods method, FIT, and FUSE.

Grafting is identical when it comes to FUE, and it is the method of extraction that differs drastically to the FUT strip method. Instead of cutting segments of scalp and then removing the follicular units manually, FUE uses a method where follicular units are removed without making a strip incision. A special tool is operated along with a microscopic lens, allowing a surgeon to remove individual follicular units at their discretion. The areas where donor hair comes from are still mostly the back and sides of the head, although, this method can also be used quite effectively when taking donor hairs from other parts of the body. This method can take a long time to complete, due to the complexity of the procedure. Whereas FUT can harvest multiple follicular units in a single strip, each unit needs to be lined up precisely using a special surgical device when performing FUE. Even so, there are some advantages here. In some cases, it will not be necessary to shave the donor area, and slightly longer hairs can be extracted along with the follicular unit. The latest techniques also allow for highly precise punches, which reduce healing time and discomfort for the patient. This is a process that requires a highly skilled surgeon. A small error could make the follicular unit unusable, so precision and experience is needed whenever this is being performed.
